Notes for New Patients
Important: Read this part about getting acupuncture in Texas In Texas, acupuncturists have a very limited scope of practice by law, which unfortunately creates a confusing situation for patients. Specifically, unless you are being treated for chronic pain, smoking, substance abuse, or weight loss your acupuncturist is required to determine that you have either: 1) been evaluated by a physician or dentist for the condition being treated within the last 12 months, or 2) been referred by a chiropractor within the last 30 days. Included in your intake paperwork is a Notification to Acupuncturist form that deals with this. In short, if you are coming for reasons other than those listed above you must indicate that you have been evaluated or referred on the Notification to Acupuncturist form provided in our intake packet or we are treating you illegally, at the risk of losing our license. You can find your intake forms here to print and fill out ahead of time. This is a PDF file, which requires Adobe Reader to view.
